Chris McGurk

My name is Chris McGurk, I was born way back in 1963, and I live in the county of Kent in England, and work in the city of London, I am married to my wife Sara, and I have three lovely kids, Chris, Sam and Bonnie. I have always been able to write poetry, and rhymes since as far back as I can remember, but have never harnessed the ability that other people have seen in me. I was introduced to "www.poets.com", and was pleased to find a forum for my poems. I am more than honored to be asked by Margaret to contribute towards a wonderful cause. I wish this site every success in achieving as much recognition as it surely deserves

The Magic Man

The Magic Man is back in town,
Are there more tricks to be revealed,
He turns a frown upside down,
Happiness is not concealed,

His reputation is gold plated,
His deeds have been recorded,
The future it may be fated,
His love is truly afforded,

Will the blind man get to see,
Will the mute still get to speak,
So many stand in line to plea,
He is having a busy week,

Lazarus is a very lucky man,
He was on the list “to do”,
Raised from death was the plan,
Coming to a town near you,

5,000 have come to eat,
Picnic time for all of you,
Loaves and fishes for them to eat,
The prophecy must be true,

Lepers they have felt His touch,
Then freed of their diseases,
The lame no longer need a crutch,
The Emperor this displeases,

Top billing is a dangerous place,
Turning wine into water,
Peer pressure tells on the face,
The order was for his slaughter,

Was death a career move,
Did he die as a king,
Can we provide enough to prove
That He was everything,

He may have died on a cross,
He was just trying to please us,
Think of God’s own loss
God had gifted us with Jesus…..
