Diane M. Green

I would like to thank Margaret and Sharon for allowing me to be a member of such a wonderful project. I often think of my poetry as cheese- it has to sit around in my head a while before it is worthwhile. I live in sunny California with my husband, 2 dogs and a cat. My poem "Someday" is in memory of my mother, Mary Anna Green, who died of cancer September 13, 2003.

Dawn

A touch of Darkness
Rides the Night
Leaves Morning touch of dew
And as in Music
Words abide
The words you say are few

In weakness
I do see your pain
Deriving from your past
Your silence
Makes it miniscule
Yet truly it is vast

I ache to cry
Your soul to tell
I ache for you to see
That in this Life
of pain and hurt
A friend you have in me

So as the Darkness
fades away
Light shines upon the cloud
I stare into
the solid pool
As you lift up your shroud.
