Richard Stewart

I am 26, born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. I went to Kutztown University for 2 years and it wasn’t until then that my interest in the art of writing had been sparked. The class, ‘Principles of Literary Analysis” taught by Dr. Mary Theresa Hall, changed my life forever. This led me to The Poets’ Workshop at www.poets.com. I joined the site in July, 2005. I’ve learned so much and met some of the best friends I’ve ever had. I’d like to thank Dr. Hall and all my dear poet friends for this wonderful opportunity.

Star-Struck

Eyes wide open
Gaze burns through the page
Lost in a moment
Mind locked in a cage

Breathe in the free air
See a crystal clear view
Of an image so rare
It could only be you

Words paint a portrait of beauty and grace,
Opening doors so to feel your embrace.
Each portal unlocked, yields a piece of your soul.
To gather such pieces...my pleasure, my goal.
