Roz Mallinson

Born in Cornwall UK, I still have an abiding passion for the Cornish language. I now live in London a city I love for its diversity. I like to travel and meet new people. I like the theatre and opera, and other interests include Egyptology and Criminology. I have published two anthologies of poetry, Jawstring in 2003 and Jawbreaker 2004. Both available at yfynnafclos@aol.com. 2006 will see two new anthologies, Topical Gas a collection of short stories and Jawbones a third poetry anthology. I am honored to be a member of the Inner Circle and look forward to contributing.

TRUTH OR LIES

Truth
Oft times
What we want
To hear out loud.
Well known in our hearts
Hangs heavy in our minds.
Learn to trust the voice within
Now is the time to stand and shout
Uncover our ears, open our eyes
Let conscience prevail and lay bare the truth.

Lies are bald wicked thoughts coiled into speech
To trip lightly of our wagging tongues
Evil embellishments searching.
Low esteem never burns bright
Unless burnished by deceit.
Inadequacies
Rumor, gossip
Turn whispers
Into
Lies.
