Bewildering Resolve
You came into my life for a reason
Or did I come into yours, for a season
Your purpose a mystery, I suppose
Am I here long enough, for a friendship to grow
Only to then fade away, like that of a yellow rose
If I left this world today, would you even recall
Would you even remember me at all
What is it that has kept you near
Every time I needed to hear
Reasons for living, hope for tomorrow
Why do you put up with my sorrow
The fragrance of a rose, borrowed
My purpose on this Earth, still so unclear
I'm struggling each day... to find out why I'm here
Yet you think the reason may be you
To assist in what you're going through
The life of the rose, renewed
But this truth you must believe
I was the one who's soul was in need
Rescued by the wisdom, from an angelic voice
Yes, the yellow rose... what a perfect choice
An older version of myself... in you I see
Encouraging me, giving me chances to believe
Experienced in the unstable path I chose
We began unfolding the petals, of the yellow rose
The yellow rose now gone, long withered away
But it's friendship and wisdom, here still today
It, through you, has given me the courage to say
Not cloud nor storm shall darken the skies
For time has come, for laughter & love to fill my eyes
Hello to new beginnings, and the purpose I now have
Thank you for your footsteps, which marked the path
Towards the bond of friendship, to love & laughter
For you, my yellow rose.......I'll always look after
I know the yellow rose simply couldn't last forever
Tis' the sentiment that symbolizes our journey together
The flower in and of itself will die and fade away
But you my friend, I shall cherish everyday
